ELECTRIC PAINTING COLLAGE is the forming of process

Since 2002 I have been making photo films.
An improvised action is captured by camera.
Then the individual photos are reworked on the computer in terms of colour, drawing, form and theme. Electric painting is the further development of a photo by means of painting in the computer. The Electric painting film is composed of a succession of individual shots, either painted or left unchanged. Electric painting differs from normal painting in that what matters is not the end product but the process of creation. There is no story-line, one action follows the other. No meaning, no goal, no happy end. Just a matter of producing strong images. It’s useless to wait for the end of a story.
It’s not like a film where every movement counts, but here the film is photo for photo, frame for frame. Each shot (whether painted or not) is posed and worked through, checked.
Movement arises through

1. the meaning of the action,
2. the order of the photos,
3. the duration of individual shots.

Seit 2002 mache ich fotografierte Filme.
Eine improvisierte darstellerische Aktion wird fotographisch eingefangen. Im Computer werden dann Einzelfotos zeichnerisch und farbig, formal und thematisch, weiter entwickelt. Electric painting ist die Weiterentwicklung eines Fotos durch Malerei im Computer. Der Electric painting Film wird aus den aneinandergereihten Fotos (bemalt oder so gelassen) zusammengefügt. Electric painting Malerei unterscheidet sich von der normalen Malerei: es geht nicht um das Endprodukt Bild, sondern um den Prozess der Entstehung.
Es gibt keine Handlung, es folgt Aktion auf Aktion. Kein Sinn, kein Zweck, kein happy end. Es geht um die Entwicklung kräftiger Bilder. Es ist sinnlos auf das Ende einer Geschichte zu warten. Es ist nicht wie beim Film, wo jede Bewegung ja zählt, sondern es steht Foto für Foto, Kader für Kader. Jedes Foto (bemalt oder nicht) ist gestellt und durchgearbeitet, überprüft.
Bewegung entsteht

1. aus dem Sinnzusammenhang des Geschehens,
2. aus der Aneinanderreihung der Fotos,
3. aus der Geschwindigkeit der Abspielung.
